Nutrition Services

+ Weight management

Whether your goal is to lose weight, gain weight, or change your body composition overall, weight management-focused sessions help you to reach the weight at which you feel most comfortable.

+ Stop obsessing, start enjoying

A healthy relationship with food is one without obsessive thoughts about food and your body, or unnecessary restrictions to your diet (talk about freeing!). These sessions focus on making your relationship with food as healthy as possible, and helping you to feel comfortable around all foods. Kindly note that I do not work with eating disorders, but am happy to refer to amazing colleagues who do.

+ High Cholesterol

Nutrition plays a large role in our heart health and cholesterol. To prevent or control high cholesterol, nutrition sessions focus on which foods to pay most attention to for the healthiest heart.

+ Teenage and College Students

Teenage and college years can be tough to navigate! Your body’s changing, you’re living on your own for the first time and, just maybe, there's some late night eating involved. Establishing healthy eating behaviors and a healthy relationship with food is especially important during this time. Seeing a dietitian can help you learn how to eat in order to feel both healthy and satisfied.

+ Corporate Lectures

If your company would like to learn about healthy eating or any specific nutrition-related topics, then a corporate lecture is perfect for you. These lectures are typically 1-hour long, and can be adapted to focus on any of the above areas, as well as more specific topics such as dining out and healthy snacking.

+ Virtual Counseling

Not in New York City? No problem! I offer virtual counseling via phone or video for anyone who can’t make it to my NYC office. These sessions work the same way that in-person sessions do (see above), simply over the phone.

+ Veggies and Chocolate Partnerships: Social Media Promotion, Recipe Development and Spokesperson Work

If you have a food, fitness, or general wellness brand and want to collaborate - email me! To be as authentic as possible to my amazing Instagram followers on @veggiesandchocolate, I only work with brands I truly support. If yours fits the bill, I'd love to help promote your product through sponsored Instagram posts, blog posts or recipe development. Looking for a longer term partnership? Email me about long term spokesperson work.

See something not listed?

Nutrition has so many different sub-areas that, in order for me to be an expert at the ones I practice, I simply can’t cover them all! If you have another topic in mind that is not listed below (for example, prenatal nutrition), please contact me to see if this an area we can work on. If it’s not something I specialize in, I am happy to provide a referral to a dietitian colleague who does.

"I know that choosing the right dietitian to work with can be a confusing task, and it’s important to find someone who works well for you."

This appointment is about 1 hour long, we’ll discuss everything about you and your goals. There’s usually a lot of backstory behind food and nutrition, so it’s important that you have time to explain everything you want to me to know in order for me to learn all about you!

02: FOLLOW UP SESSIONS: how we connect

After your initial consultation, each follow up session will be about 45 minutes long. In these sessions, we’ll set small goals for you to work on, check in on your progress, and adjust as needed every step of the way. In the beginning, in order to meet your goals and continue moving forward, we’ll usually meet once a week or once every other week.

03: What to Expect:

  • Real life, convenient nutrition: Nutrition should be simple and easy. We focus on ingredients you can find, meals you can quickly make, and tips for life on the go. You'll never be expected to find or buy any obscure supplements or ingredients you can't pronounce. Sammi and her team believe that eating healthy should be an effortless part of your life, not one that feels like a stressful or impossible task.

  • All food groups. For the sake of a sustainable plan, expect to include all food groups in your diet (unless, of course, you have a medical reason not to). There is truly room for all foods in a healthy diet, and if you're looking for a sustainable lifestyle, you'll need to include them all. This means real pizza, real cookies and French fries - no “healthy substitutions.”

  • A healthy relationship with food. As we go over your habits and goals, we'll probably also dig into your eating behaviors and the reasoning behind them. As part of a incorporating all foods into your diet, expect to learn how to create a healthy relationship with food once and for all (yay!).
